After graduating from the Fine Arts Academy of Florence in 2005, Natalie decided to do something a little extra and enrolled into the Art Studio Fuji to study the techniques and art of jewelry making and design. There she learnt the multi-cultural techniques of jewelry making, design, soldering, casting, stone-setting, enameling and engraving. In the privacy of her own home-based studio and with the help of jewelry workshops, Natalie launched her own line of jewelry in 2006 where she makes use of both her art degree and knowledge of metal work. Each piece is designed and handmade by Natalie herself, breaking away from the jewelers’ conventional techniques by using not just silver, gold, brass, semiprecious stones and crystals, but also utilizing an array of unexpected materials, rendering her jewelry with a personal, imaginative touch as she fuses both art and metal into one unique piece. |

The Letter Nûn... |

|
Throughout history and archaic cultures the letter ‘Nûn’ embodied a variety of symbols and meanings; in biblical and Islamic terms it denotes the fish also called Nûn. As an abbreviation in Arabic and Hebrew ‘Nûn’ also stands for ‘feminine’. In some cultures, it represents the sun. For the historical philosopher Ibn Arabi, Nûn is the symbol of light... And so the list goes on. But simply put: it is the first letter in Natalie’s name and is what she
uses as her logo, choosing the circular calligraphic shape of the Arabic Nûn
to brand her work.
